How does the Align-Right™ Sleeping Pillow help with:

Allergies: (Night time)

  • Bed time Allergies have many causes, usually something on the bed in microscopic particles or odor causing bacteria. You breathe these particles through your air passages which can trigger reactions, for example, sinus drip and itchy ears. Washing the bedding and pillows may be an easy answer instead of compromising your health with allergy pills.
  • The Align-Right™ Sleeping Pillow is allergy free and easily machine wash and dry. By opening the zipper and re-fluffing on high heat in the dryer ,weekly, you kill any dust mites, blow them and particles out. The Align-Right™ Sleeping Pillow keeps its shape after many washes.

Asthma: (Night attacks)

  • Asthma night attacks usually are caused by something in the bed; dust, odors, etc. (See allergies above)
  • Sometimes it is the sinus drainage at night that causes the choking effect thus triggering the asthma attack. (See Snoring)
  • The Align-Right™ Sleeping Pillow helps with asthma, by keeping the neck and head supported properly in alignment and air passages open. Some people need to angle their upper respiratory system thereby allowing sinus drainage. The Align-Right™ Sleeping Pillow is ideal to place on top of a regular pillow which is being used as a wedge, under the shoulders, to angle the upper respiratory system.

Arm & Hand Numbness:

  • People with this problem could have the lower vertebra in the cervical (neck) spine out of alignment. The space from where the nerve leads to the arm and hand is compromised, interfering with normal transmission of nerve energy and blood supply. A pillow too full or too flat can exacerbate this problem, by taking the cervical spine out of alignment.

Breathing Problems:

  • Nightly breathing problems usually are caused by Allergies, Sinus drainage, or improper support for the neck and head cutting off the air passages. Sometimes this relates as snoring. (See Snoring)
  • The Align-Right™ Sleeping Pillow keeps the neck and head supported in proper alignment keeping the air passages open by keeping the tongue out of the throat. The position also helps the sinus flow causing less choking, gurgling sounds. Some forms of snoring are sinus drainage problems.

Lower Back Pain:

  • Some low back problems are caused by tossing and turning all night. Back muscles cannot relax.

Common Colds:

  • Common colds are caused by a weakened immune system. Lack of deep sleep, poor diet all cause the body to be more susceptible to virus. At night the body needs to slow down to heal the immune system, and sleep is a huge component in this healing.
  • The Align-Right™ Sleeping Pillow keeps you in proper cervical alignment and helps give you a deep sleep.

Chronic Tiredness:

  • Chronic Tiredness is a sign of accumulated sleep debt. If you don’t get the deep sleep you will feel tired, irritable, mentally fatigued, out of sorts and have trouble relating to people, solving problems, making decisions, etc.

  • Morning headaches can be the result of improper head and neck support. The vertebras are out of alignment compromising the nerves and their function to the tissues and organs of the body. Sinus blockage can cause headaches due to lack of releasing pressure caused by outside air pressure changes.
  • The Align-Right™ Sleeping Pillow is designed to keep the neck and head supported in alignment allowing proper nerve function. Keeping the neck in alignment will assist with sinus drainage.

Insomnia:

  • Insomnia is a build up of lack of sleep to the point the brain has forgotten how to sleep and must be retrained. This can start in the very early years and sleep deprivation builds up causing many illnesses including several mood disorders. Medication can reduce communication with the brain. Our brain has a job to do while we sleep.
  • To retrain the brain will take time but is worth it to your health.

      One Method:
    • Force yourself into side sleeping position for a minimum of 15 minutes. Still awake, get up and walk around for no longer than 5 minutes and try side sleeping again. You will find the 15 minutes will get longer and longer until finally you pass the 1 hour mark, then 2 hours. It took years to get the brain trained not to sleep so don't expect it to retrain instantly. It may take several weeks or months but it will retrain.

Shoulder Pain:

  • Shoulder pain can be caused by the shoulder rolling in as the neck lacks proper support.
  • The Align-Right™ Sleeping Pillow is a measured device to give you the right support from the first night, measured from the side of your neck to the end of your “shoulder bone”. The Align-Right ™ Sleeping Pillows sizing allows for the bulk of the arm to move into the bed, therefore giving you the correct distance between bed and head for good shoulder support.

Sinus Problems:

  • Sinus problems are usually blockages in the sinus passages, sometimes at night. Our sinus is a pressure adjuster of our body fluids. Air pressure is constantly changing and our internal pressure is constantly adjusting even at night. It is normal for sinus drainage at night but if the neck and head are not in the correct alignment then the fluid builds up in our throat and to breathe we blow past the fluid causing a wet sounding snore. Elevating the head of the bed about 4 inches sometimes helps.
  • Check the level of your bed, the floor may not be level, you do not want to sleep with your head going “down hill” thereby sinus cannot drain.

Snoring:

  • Align-Right believes there are 2 types of snoring; dry and wet.
  • Dry: Blocked air passage due to an obstruction like the tongue. An overweight problem can allow fat tissue to obstruct the air passage. Some drugs & alcohol can relax the fat tissue and the tongue muscles allowing them to block the airways.
  • Wet: Sinus drainage blocked (builds up in the throat and you exhale through it causinga gurgling sound.)
  • The Align-Right™ Sleeping Pillow assists with both types by keeping neck in alignment the lower jaw comes forward and the tongue follows, air passage opens allowing the unrestricted breathing.
  • Thick skin tissue on the pallet can cause airway obstruction/snoring. Medical help is needed in this instance.

Sleep Apnea:

  • Sleep apnea is the interruption of air going to our lungs. This is a rare condition. This is a medical condition and many people use a breathing machine with a mask and tube to force air in. Sometimes this condition is caused by improper positioning of the head while sleeping, allowing the tongue to block the airway or blocking the sinus drainage.

Whiplash:

  • Whiplash is caused by an over stretching of the neck muscles causing inflammation and pain. The muscles must be kept in a relaxed state to allow healing at night. The weight of the head on the neck muscles at night must be supported properly.

Scoliosis:

  • Scoliosis is a deformity in the spine caused by weak muscles through strain and poor posture. Often found in the young, quickly growing children, progression can be slowed down with natural therapies and resting the spine in proper support.
